Fresh natural soap is made by using cold process, hot process and French milled (rebatched) soap making techniques. We use combinations of high quality saponified butters & oils such as olive, coconut, sustainable palm, castor, soybean, Shea butter, cocoa butter, mango butter, sweet almond, evening primrose, Vitamin E, Jojoba, grape seed, sesame and stearic acid (fat extracted from vegetables). Then we enhance the batter with therapeutic essential oils, goat milk, yogurt, local honey, Sea Salt, tea leaves, botanicals, oatmeal, loofah, activated charcoal, Tussah silk and a few select fragrance oils. We add pigments and natural colorants such as root powders, Brazilian clay and micas to create a unique bar of clean, natural and beautiful soap.
Sea Salt Bars are from the saponification of coconut oil, soybean oil, and castor oil. After the saponification process is complete, Mediterranean sea salt and Shea butter are melted in the warm batter. This process allows for 100% benefit of the Shea butter and sea salt properties on your skin. The result is a creamy, moisturizing exfoliation without the scratchy feel. We like to compare it to the feeling of ocean water on a warm sunny beach day! Our facial soap line has a soap for normal, dry, oily, combination and sensitive skin types. They are low cleansing French milled process soap that contain skin loving ingredients and select essential oils to gently clean your face without striping away your natural oils.
In cold and hot process soap making, saponification is created by adding sodium hydroxide (NaOH) to the base oils. The combination of salts and oils quickly react and begin to change the liquid to a solid. Once poured into molds, they sit and cure up to 6 weeks. During this process, the soap hardens and the (NaOH) is completely gone, leaving a safe, cleansing and beautiful bar of natural soap.
The process has been done for hundreds of years although today, most of the (soaps) you buy are detergents, stripped of the natural glycerin, and loaded with man made fragrances, chemicals, and various cleansing, rinsing, and lathering agents. This process makes a very affordable bar of soap, but the ingredients are only adding to the chemicals we expose ourselves to everyday.
Our fresh handcrafted soaps are full of natural occurring glycerin, have perfect cleansing ability and are handmade without unnecessary ingredients. They have a rustic and chunky appearance and may not be perfectly shaped. We think this is the beauty of being natural & handmade, no two bars bars looking exactly the same. Finally, each soap is individually hand-wrapped and shipped to your home.
